Skip Ewing “Your Memory Wins Again” Single Of The Day

Skip Ewing's first hit single, "Your Memory Wins Again"Greetings from Asheville, where today’s Single Of The Day remembers the debut hit from a man who, today, is more remembered for his songwriting, as well as a Christmas song he would record.  Then-24 year old Skip Ewing, a California native, made his chart debut in 1988, and would go on to score six Country 40 singles by 1990, including four top ten hits.  Later, he would also gain some popularity with a Christmas song he recorded titled, “Christmas Carol”.

However, it’s as a songwriter where he’s gained the majority of his fame and success, thanks to hits such as; “If I Didn’t Have You” (Randy Travis), “Wish You Were Here” (Mark Wills), “Me And You” (Kenny Chesney), and “Someone Else’s Star” (Bryan White).

Today’s Single Of The Day gave Skip Ewing his first chart single.  “Your Memory Wins Again”, a fast-paced track that helped place Skip Ewing firmly amongst the New Traditionalists.  “Your Memory Wins Again” made it’s debut in April, 1988, and would eventually peak at seventeen.
