3 Artists From The ’90s You Might Remember
Remember the 1990's? That was the midst of the “New Traditionalist” movement, where we saw a large influx of new talent into country music. Several, such as Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, and Martina McBride, would continue to be radio staples well into the new century. However, there were several more whose hit-making careers would last only 2-3 years, if not shorter. See how many you remember.

Wanda Jackson, The Queen Of Rockabilly & Her LP “Right Or Wrong”
While doing some reading, last night, I stumbled across an article about an upcoming appearance, here in Raleigh, this weekend, by “The Queen Of Rockabilly”, Wanda Jackson. For those who are not very familiar with Ms. Jackson, she first gained notice, in the mid 1950's, while touring with Elvis.

Classic Album Review-Shania Twain “The Woman In Me”
Fifteen years ago, country music was rocked by the arrival of Shania Twain and her album, “The Woman In Me”. To reset the scene, Shania had released her self-titled debut album in 1993, but it had met with minimal success. However, before beginning work on this album, Shania hooked up with veteran producer John “Mutt” Lange, both professionally and personally, and the result was huge.

Classic Album Review-”Johnny Horton’s Greatest Hits”
One thing that can drive me crazy about Greatest Hits collections are when the labels include several “fillers”, such as single “B” sides or album cuts. Especially, when it's an artist who has more than enough legitimate hits to fill the album. I think they should titles, in these cases, such as “Hits and More” or "such and such's Favorites", just don't call it Greatest Hits, when it's not, completely.

Classic Album Review-Flatt And Scruggs “Hear The Whistles Blow”
How about a little bluegrass for a change? Flatt & Scruggs were arguably bluegrass' most important act of the 1960's, as their success in crossing over into the mainstream country market, as well as the folk scene, was simply unparalleled. Their performances, both live and on record, were amazing, and they could perform Carter Family classics or the latest Dylan, with equal ease, and convince you that the music was written for them. So, it's no surprise that today's featured LP is a collection of perfection. Do you wanna know how to really play stringed instruments? Listen to this, or any of their albums, and you will hear how.
