It’s been awhile, as life has taken some twists and turns, but it is now time to get back to talking about classic country music on the Ultimate Twang blog, plus some other occasional subjects.
So, what has been happening? Well, it started back in the Spring of 2017, when we thought we’d be moving to Raleigh, North Carolina, leaving Asheville. In anticipation of all that is required of a move, this blog was put on hold, and our radio program that was heard on WSFM/AshevilleFM.
Well, as sometimes happens, God has other ideas, and the Raleigh move fell through. This turned out to be a good thing, in a sense, as my father-in-law’s health began declining quickly, accelerated by a fall later in the summer. So, my wife and I wound up becoming full-time caretakers for him, until his passing in January of this year.
Since then, it’s been a mixture of many things; of course, the period of grief and recovery that follows the passing of any loved one, getting things taken care of around the house after his passing, taking a couple of trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (which we NEEDED!), job-hunting (anyone need a great air talent who knows REAL country music?), and narrating several audio books, of which I’ll have more in an upcoming post (in other words, I’ll talk about it, and leave links hoping you’ll buy them, of course!).
So, without boring you with all of the gory details, that’s what has been happening, here. The Ultimate Twang vinyl collection has continued to grow, and I’m sure we’ll talk about that, down the road. As for old posts from our old site, I had uploaded some of them, here, last year. Honestly, I don’t know that I will upload any more of them. Instead, I may well write new reviews.
And finally, about the radio show. I’m hoping the opportunity soon presents itself to return to the air waves, at least with our Ultimate Twang show. I’ll keep you posted with any updates.
